This is observed data, not a model: The Economist has priced the same burger in the same restaurants twice a year since 2000. We divide each observation by Bitcoin's closing price on that date. No CPI assumptions, no backcasting — just two public datasets joined on a date.
Read it as the purchasing-power story: when the line falls, the same burger costs fewer sats — Bitcoin's slice of the real economy got bigger. The spikes are BTC drawdowns, priced in burgers.
